Government regulation of AI could be the best thing to happen to Bitcoin.

For one it is already drawing attention away from Bitcoin and this will only increase as it accelerates. The longer Bitcoin is under the radar the better.

Secondly, the cat is already out of the bag - no amount of regulation can stop AI now so if Government is stupid enough to try all it will do is force people either to break the law or move offshore.

But this is important because people will see that tech regulation like this is both meaningless and counterproductive so having it happen around AI first would be of great benefit to Bitcoin. Not only will we have more learning of how to deal with an adversarial State, but likely it will soften more people to Bitcoin and make them curious if it too is then banned.

Whilst I completely reject the doomerism around AI and think these end of the world scenarios are foolish, I’m now inclined to support government intervention if only to help Bitcoin by proxy.

If AI is essentially just code, how can the US government regulate it without violating the first amendment?

This is just noise.. lmao they can't regulate code.. I'll just make my own ai like everyone has..

That’s kind of my point with the cat being out of the bag, regulation isn’t going to stop it but that doesn’t mean they won’t try any way.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking the US Government gives a shit about it’s Constitution. They’ll do what is expedient for them regardless of legality.

Violating the US bill of rights is what the government does best.

I’m not ready tu support any regulation, but I agree with you.

This being a case of “never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake” is the only reason I support it.

Everything be good for bitcoin.

They will try to control the tech. They can't allow the productivity to flow to individuals.

A normie will just need sats & an npub to access the tech.
