Personalized web of trust (each user customizes the equation that produces the results) allows you to fine tune the scores according to what you like. For instance, I could tweak the algo to score accounts that post more technical stuff higher. Or reduce the score of anyone that posts about politics. It's not just follows or follows. Posts by the same person can be a 10 and a 0, one after another.

I love this idea! I was always in favor of customizable algos. Never liked closed sourced algos with predefined defaults that can’t be changed by the user. I think Dorsey is correct that users should be able to choose from a list of algos, but adding the ability to further customize them is even better.

Not necessarily disagreeing, but IMHO "Follows" will be a meaningful signal as long as the Nostr user experience remains "Twitter-like", in the sense of the UX being dominated by a feed.

Follows occupy a pretty central part of the protocol.... As long as there is a specially privileges list of npubs called a "follow list"
