To all my nostr pleb frens... oddly enough, Nirvana was on people's minds today. Had several references cross my cranium. Thus, will share some Nirvana memories. These three punks new how to light up a club... my favorite shows of all time were great, unknown bands in small clubs. Does that even happen anymore? Anyway, in 1990, Nirvana was playing small clubs... and essentially no one knew who they were.

I was a DJ at my college station and all the Nirvana records would get stolen from the station library. Thus you had to bring in your own copies if you wanted to play them on your show. Then in August of 1991 our station received a copy of Nevermind. I knew this was coming out and got my hands on it and went into one of the studios for a preview listen... Smells Like Teen Spirit left me speechless. It took their raw melodic punk energy, jacked it up to 11, and raised the lid off the corporate rock roof. The entire album blew me away and I was jacked to be one of the first people to play it on the radio. Then, in less than two years, much to the chagrin of Kurt Cobain, Nirvana was playing stadiums.
