VC megadeals are on the rise, with nearly 240 deals worth $100 million or more in the US alone. Surprisingly, AI is not the top category, with biotech and healthcare startups accounting for 87 mega deals. Cybersecurity also saw a significant number of mega deals, with 16 such rounds this year. Meanwhile, down rounds are still present, but pre-money valuations have improved slightly for seed and Series A deals.
