My comment was focused on nuance. I've heard to many people say they don't use an algorithm and then that they use the latest feed. Chronological IS an algorithm. I AM a nerd

I'm avoiding anything that isn't just the people I follow. I'm specifically avoiding anything that ads anything that I don't specifically 'sub' to other than reposts of people I don't follow by people I do follow. I just didn't feel like writing a book.

Having tried trending 1hr, 4hr and 12hr I’ve settled on 4hr as my preferred option.
1hr doesn’t seem long enough to filter out the lower quality posts and 12ht always seems to be filled with posts from the same people. 4hr seems to strike a nice balance between.
