I'll have to check this out.
I've been using KDEConnect for years and it's fantastic.

### LocalSend
Airdrop for Android
(Share files with any other device regardless if it's Apple, Microsoft, phone or computer.)
LocalSend (localsend.org) is an open source, cross-platform file sharing app that makes file sharing a breeze, as long as all devices have access to the same local network, either though WiFi or through a wired connection.
LocalSend boasts these features:
- Cross-Platform (Linux, Android, Apple, MS)
- Send files to mutiple devices at once
- Easy intuitive user-friendly interface
- Open Source
- GitHub link:
github.com/localsend/localsend
Other Android Fileshare Options:
- KDEConnect
kdeconnect.kde.org/
- (Also requires Local Network)
- Nextcloud Files
nextcloud.com/files/
- Similar to Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
- Can password protect files/folders
- Can set expiration on file/folder shares
LocalSend is easier to use than KDEConnect, but file share is all it does. KDEConnect is still great for sending text messages from you laptop through your phone, sharing your clipboard, and for controlling slideshow presentations from your phone.
For personal file transfer bewteen your phone and your Linux computer, the traditional SFTP transfer is still more convienent as it integrates right into some file browsers, such as Material Files.

Localsend did nothing but give me headaches.
I've had good luck with KDEconnect so maybe I will just stick with that.
That's what I use. I tried using local send for a while because I think an update in KDE broke something for a couple weeks. But by the time I got fed up with localsend, KDE had fixed whatever was going on or maybe I was just a dumbass and needed to do a reinstall.
I use KDEconnect mobile app on Gnome with Arch Linux. Arch always gets new Gnome versions out very quickly and it usually takes a bit for a new release of GSconnect to get everything working again.
