One of my favorite small hacks for improving my privacy that I learned this year is sending my images and videos to myself on Signal as a note to self. This strips the metadata before I share them online. Thank you very much, Mr. Matt nostr:nprofile1qqsqfjg4mth7uwp307nng3z2em3ep2pxnljczzezg8j7dhf58ha7ejgprpmhxue69uhhqun9d45h2mfwwpexjmtpdshxuet5qyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2aqnz0fd0 🙏

The only downside is that on my end, Signal seems to strip some of the original color from the media and make it look a bit greyer. A temporary workaround I’ve been using is applying a vivid filter before sending to Signal, though I’m not sure it fully preserves the original color.

Has anyone else run into this issue and/or found a better workaround?

If you have an Android you can use the open source Aves image gallery app to srtip metadata from images and videos.
