It used to be a public honor to get elected to political office... Then it became a chore, then a drudgery, then someone at some town hall meeting, said, "Well, can't we just pay them a little something for their trouble, time and good work that they do?"... Then it was all down hill from there. Then it became a job, like a circuit preacher wanting more than his supper from the townsfolk. Then the intersection of the political and the legal tended to attract the word slicers/dicers aka lawyers who sought to enshrine politics in process at the behest of the monied and thus banking became the step-parent of law AND politics... Of course all of this "civilization" makes the masses ill in their soul, so the Doctor was called and he treated our symptoms, gave us some pills, and here we are 200 years later wondering what went wrong. 😁⚖️🐸🦋🧛☠️🤫
