WTF is this!

It disappeared from the right of all mynotes after I saw it. Yo whats with hiding this from us? Our notes should not be hashed in the blockchain.

I don't know why it would disappear. I think it's using open timestamps. It's merkelized with a batch of other timestamp requests before adding to the chain.

I never noticed it before then when I saw the note they randomly had letters next to them OT with a # that's how I saw it then that literally disappeared from every note.

Not every note is.

None should be at all.

On amethyst, it's literally a feature. I can click and timestamp your notes like I just did.

I see that button which is odd. The only thing that should be hashed to a blockchain is transactions. Anything else should be unacceptable. Blockchain wasn't meant to be used like this which is alarming.

Anybody can take any information and hash it to add to the OTS tree. It's not something Amethyst is necessarily doing, though, Amethyst does support doing it.

OTS is going to add a merkle root. Adding additional hashes to the tree doesnt take up additional space on chain.

It doesnt matter how you feel about whether or not it should be in the chain. The stamp will be created and if you publish anything digital, that has potential to be added to the chain by anyone.

Yeah thats a problem right there. I imagine that will be how the governments will destroy the economy & we will all be broke except them. Bitcoin can't last w a blockchain.

OTS is very low impact with regard to its chain data footprint. I think other forms of chain data are more worthy of a worry like this.

Yeah, you're overreacting. This has been available for years and no one really is against ots
