Clearly NOT huge balls of gas burning away billions of light years away. That is insane. They are described as “lamps” in the last testament. Certain stars such as Sirius are referenced as “home” by certain african tribes and the Japanese as well. The stars we see may very well be a low altitude phenomenon, meaning they disappear past a certain distance.
