We like to claim that things like #bitcoin and #nostr are censorship resistant but are they?
How is it that China has effectively banned them? Is there scalable tech to get around regime censorship?

Well, it is, censor resistant as long as you have access to internet network. If you are running on LAN with white-list and not just "blacklist" it bit complicates things. Especially nostr - as there are just target relays, akka servers hosted somewhere. But it's censor resistante in sense, you can create your own node or whatever ones and free of will. It's resistance from point of single authority, but it is dependent on internet and connectivity for sure.
