Iā€™d think fig trees might also work! They grow well in southern Italy which is quite an arid climate. Oh and these very sweet cucumbers called Caroselli Cucumbers (I think). AND creeping rosemary which is a great cover plant.

Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Peppers we do from spring to summer.

Herbs we just replace here and there and they stay in a regulated shade area. šŸ˜€

I miss southern Florida where nature waters and the temperature swings were minimal.
