If it needs funding, but bittorrent kinda doesn't, maybe nostr could end up like that. Instead of paying, the network just stores whatever people think is worth their storage space & bandwidth. Famous people have thousands of people saving and relaying copies of their posts, you and I just have our friends and maybe some nerd from the same friend group who runs a server
