See what I don’t get is my normal bank debit card works in the grocery store. Is it not like that in the US?

I don’t think I’ve ever had issues with my debit card, other than it being blocked because of suspected fraud etc.

I’ve only once had a credit card that I got when a computer died and it was the only way I could afford a replacement. I paid it back and got rid of it.

I mean charge protection.

Debit has little to no financial protection, and in order to utilize it you need to go through complex loops, and they only guarantee up to a certain amount.

With (some) credit cards, you can literally call, and say you don't like the product, and they'll refund you, and let you keep the product.

That's probably one of the big reasons people use credit cards in The United States honestly.

If debit had similar protection I think things would change more.

Ah I see. It’s funny, when I buy things that turn out to be bad ideas I tend to keep them and berate myself for making a poor choice lol.

Whenever I buy something now it's probably because a Tech Wizard, Racist, or Schizo recommended it.

Like Lenovo PCs, or Safety Razors.

So far the 30 to 40 year old white dudes that have profile pics of cute anime girls haven't failed me yet.

Interesting… I tend to go for noise making machines and records. Although also have a Lenovo PC for hosting.
