cool, glad you're with me. think about it this way: the whitepaper describes bitcoin as a *chain of digital signatures*. each link in that chain, at the core protocol level, is a whole, indivisible unit. what we *called* a bitcoin before was just a convenient grouping. bip 177 just aligns the *name* with reality. it's always been about whole units – the system fundamentally works with complete coins, not fractions. calling 100 million of the base unit "1 bitcoin" was just confusing. now, when we say "1 bitcoin," we're talking about the actual, smallest, indivisible piece – the fundamental unit of the chain. it's truer to how satoshi originally envisioned it – a complete, digitally signed coin. we're just naming it correctly now. #Bitcoinisbitcoin
