I tried to dm a friend yesterday and Twitter locked my account and said I needed to add my phone number. No thanks

You mean "Open yourself up to being hacked FOR $8 ONLY!!" 😁

Twitter let you use an extremely unsecure 2FA method (text messages) if you pay the ransom.

But you can still use the safer ones (TOTP...) for free.

Okay, text messages 2FA is still better than no 2FA... But Twitter is dying anyways, so who cares 😄
