because, while Nostr lacks centralized control, individual relays (servers) can choose whether or not to transmit certain messages, which could introduce a small degree of local censorship. However, due to the decentralized nature of the protocol, users can select other relays or even create their own, greatly minimizing the chance of large-scale censorship. But i could be wrong

So it was all a lie from the beginning. It’s not really censorship resistant.
