Can you expand your thoughts on this? You're probably right but I want to understand better
The ability to do instant micro-transactions for notes provides an incentive to produce better content and for the market to reward high-quality content with real money in real time.
Value-for-value is a new paradigm and I think it’s going to make social media much better due to its superior incentive structure.
Being able to post any content we want is also something that hasn’t existed pre-Nostr. Think back to Covid, when anything that went against the establishments narrative was de-platformed. Nostr really fixes that serious problem. End-to-end encrypted direct messaging as well adds to Nostr comms resilience.
Users on Nostr do not have to be worried about getting banned or shadow-banned or having their hashtags blacklisted. Not true for any other social.
These issues with centralized social media will rear their head again next time Governments attempt a psyop, and Nostr is a functioning tool that allows users to circumvent any attempt at censorship at scale.
All of this makes users on this protocol much more powerful. The 10x is just a figure I made up bc it’s round and illustrates my point, I can’t actually quantify it. But hopefully that makes my position a bit more clear.
