I read Berdyaev’s “The Russian idea” and realize that our pro-Western mindset after the collapse of the USSR was madness. With all my love for Western pre-WW2 culture and my admiration for Kant, Jaspers and Husserl, I realize that we had poisoned ourselves with the West.

The West doesn’t understand Russia, otherwise they would know that the more we are attacked from without, the more we are consolidated from within. The West’s proxy war with Russia in Ukraine is becoming our Great Patriotic War akin to those we fought with Napoleon and Hitler. The West must understand that Russia would rather end the world than let the West end Russia. Time to come to your senses, Russophobes.

The damage done in Ukraine to our relationship with the West will last for centuries. Russian blood on Western hands won’t be easily forgiven. Our civilizations will co-exist, but it will not be a friendly co-existence. Only the fall of either civilization will end the conflict.
