Getting more and more convinced that a Nostr app store should do the user onboarding.

I just want to say: "Want to use Nostr? Just install nostr:nprofile1qqs83nn04fezvsu89p8xg7axjwye2u67errat3dx2um725fs7qnrqlgzqtdq0 and follow the steps". The store helps them figure out which apps are available for their platform and which ones their friends are using.

I want to onboard to an ecosystem. Not to a specific app.

I like it.

Yeah, I was thinking that a signer/onboarding app should have recommended apps. But this is probably even better.

I wish you could install apks on iOS πŸ˜”

Im interested in this idea. The UX we have right now makes it hard for specialised clients.

Unless it handles also your keys it would be hard. People don't understand keys. Even devs struggle with key management for ssh or git commit signing.

Fix the key management fix the world πŸ˜‚

What's wrong with me here?

Way too old version. Delete that app. Re download version 0.1.8, more info on this account's profile page

Love the idea and excited to pursue it BUT

Who comes to nostr because they just "want to use nostr"?

Most of the time people invest time in getting into something because there is one clear selling point. I think social apps have a way bigger chance to onboard

You’re probably right. πŸ«‚

Most don’t seem to care about freedom tech as much as I hoped. Bad me for my idealism.

integration of an nsec vault like nostr:npub16uu27ark63w72qlrzvavp4kfp8ndkxz26eyzke6uckqr0v3k0k2q3sx0h6 could be helpful too

This is the most appropriate path but people will discover nostr in million of ways .. some people like a harder way of onboarding :-)

But the easiest path , in my mind , is to start delivering value even before someone is on nostr .. case in point - npub.pro publications .. may be they should have a link to zap.store on every theme as well as the sign-in options

that sounds like a that sounds like a decent path

makes a ton of sense for Android users

YES

An invite where the friend recommends the set up would be perfect

Oh yeah absolutely!!! This is exactly why I need my Pixel back!!!

what about the Spring nostr browser?

I dont think spring is even maintained anymore

feels like that is the case πŸ€™
