If they do not change triggers behind payouts, they will only fuck up platform even harder. Problem is not how large payouts are, it's what is being rewarded. How you count views, how views are rewarded, how content can be filtered by those that pay for ads etc.

Current game theory rules over there are: "write as provocative post as possible, no matter what, no matter truth, no matter quality of information, just poke and probe for human response". Current rules are slowly destroying quality of communication on X. If they crank up payments and do not fix rules, it's gonna become even bigger shitshow (i don't know if that's even possible tbh)

Who knows if this KYC verification might lead to excessive exposure of privacy, or be exploited by the government?
