Made my first batch of homemade sauerkraut. It’s delicious! I never thought letting something sit in my basement for nearly a month would produce something edible. Salt, water and cabbage. I added some caraway seeds for seasoning. That’s the dark specks. Also, I grew the cabbage! For me, one of the most enjoyable parts of homesteading is the sense of accomplishment I get talking something from seed to table.
