nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s brought this argument up some time ago that not being able to delete notes also means nobody can force you to delete stuff. It's part of censorship resistance.

Indeed, was thinking others can stream from this undeleteable relay to other relays hosted in privacy friendly jurisdictions. As means of letting the genie out of the bottle one note at a time. 🤙

the relay owner could still delete what ever they want, might serve an archival purpose but doesn't really add censorship resistance

More in the sense of how nostr:npub16fcy8ynknssdv7s487nh4p2h4vr3aun64lpfea45d7h4sts9jheqevshgh is configured. With a network in different jurisdictions. Along with Tor only relays as back channels. Is true I could delete whatever wanted. But others can stream from our relays. Was thinking of those services that show deleted tweets to compare.

I kinda thought lacking support for nip 9 was already a thing... according to nostr watch 368 support 09 and only 365 support nip 01 🤷‍♀️

it's not deleted if you still host it, and to present it that way would be disingenuous.

That is odd since popular relays support it. Not sure believe the Tech Breakdown section. I guess could technically say even if event is deleted could be recovered from HD unless securely deleted. But that is a whole other 🐰🕳️
