2TB is more than sufficient for data storage. Key issue for running a relay service for many users are the server CPU/RAM specs:
My relay server is a virtual private server (VPS). It has:
4x CPU cores
16GB RAM
1TB data storage (NVMe)
1TB monthly network bandwidth
My yearly cost is ~420€
Relay membership cost is about 1.75-2.00€, so my break even is around 210 new users yearly.
