Venerable Paraschiva, as a young girl, once removed her clothes and gave them to a poor beggar. When her parents scolded her, she fled to Constantinople and became a nun. She lived an ascetic life in the Jordanian desert and after a divine vision, she returned to her homeland to live in silence.
