Can see the effect of this in nostrgram.co....It has now gone read only from paid relays across the platform. Can write to other relays of your choice but read is only from paid. Many of the people who you might follow do not show up. Now I'm not sure if it because those people are not using any paid relays or if they are just not using the same paid relays as the one following.  It seems that the move to paid relays is inevitable to anyone who wants a good user experience now on nostr
