I really don’t like talking about abortion, but it’s absolutely fascinating watching women frame the legal right and ability to obtain assistance in killing their offspring as their single solitary political issue.

It reminds me of how insane and counterproductive Prohibition was, and how it only passed because of the Temperance movement (I.e. newly minted women’s vote).

I’m beginning to think single women should not vote.

Hell maybe single PEOPLE should not vote.

The original requirement to be a landowner meant voters had skin in the game, in the community, in the future.

Honestly I would support a world where married couples get one vote per child

I brought up how over-focused this whole topic was with a friend, while admitting that it is an important issue. He spent 2 hours arguing with me about how bad it is, which I agreed with, but he totally missed the point I was making that it gets a dis-proportionate amount of discussion while most other important issues are largely ignored, because the people who tend to focus on this one thing are usually economically and politically clueless.

Probably by design of the current system, so they can slip all sorts of shady shit into bills while people argue about this issue in circles.

Yeah but it’s not just the political game being played, it’s the economic one

I actually think guns are like this too

If the NRA really cared about your rights, they’d be all about 3D printed guns (in reality, they’re just marketing for Big Gun)

If Planned Parenthood really cared about women’s rights, they’d be all about non-KYC abortion pills by mail (in reality, they’re a front for Big Stem Cell research and depopulation/eugenics)
