anonymity works better on nostr than 4chan

on 'anonymous' 4chan you are assigned an id and your ip and other meta data are logged, feds regularly use 4chan data to pursue people, tor and most vpns are blocked

on nostr there is potentially inifinite ways into the platform, tor and vpns are not usually blocked and likely cant be completely

you can assign your own ids on nostr

key sharing will work but you likely can only do it with small groups

make a nym and have fun, nostr is basically uncensorable, unstoppable

Art-Anon, https://peakd.com/hive-158694/@art-anon/what-is-art-anon , is a fascinating account on Hive, but its anonymity is undermined by the fact that one of the 50 NFT owners is the anonymous poster. Hive uses more keys than Nostr, including an owner's key, a posting key, and a password key. I couldn't find a way to replicate this behavior on Nostr, which suggests that the owner's key is centralized.

Nostr-Anon

I'm wondering if it's possible to create a truly anonymous Nostr account. I thought 8chan was shut down because it was a hotbed of criminal activity, so I'm surprised that similar sites are still up. Nostr also surprises me, as each Nostr app is centralized and can mute accounts. I wonder how each app provider is responsible for what goes through their apps.

Burning Accounts

I'm also curious about how burning an account works. I guess the burn/delete tool on Alby doesn't actually delete the keys overall.

Nostr as a Chan-Type Network

It seems that Nostr could be used to create chan-type networks, but these networks would still be centralized.

Conclusion

I'm interested in the potential for Nostr to be used as a truly anonymous platform, but I'm also aware of some of the challenges. I'm curious to see how Nostr develops in the future. #nostranon
