Use cashu for privacy. Monero has it's own blockchain, so what? It doesn't hold value enough to give to your grandchildren so what's the point?

Cashu is still in beta or whatever. I've lost sats with it. I will give it another shot in a few months.

True, it's not ready for serious money, but it has potential.

This is what people said about lightning.... And what they still say all these years later. Payments fail all the time bc of liquidity issues

That happened in the early days of lightning, but I can't remember the last time I had a failed payment.

Depends on what channels you've got, and the sat amounts.

Isn't cashu custodial? Also how many layers do we need before we finally get private, non-custodial Bitcoin. Also you don't have to be all or nothing. That's my point. You can use monero for transacting and Bitcoin for savings.

Yes. It is. I used to run my own cashu mint with LNBITS , but it's not available anymore.

To be honest, monero would be better with atomic swaps on the lightning network. Is that a thing?
