So how does one become discovered? Nostr almost needs a referral system so that users can promote each other?

Otherwise why would or how would anyone know there was someone new worth following.

We don't need that, just boost each other's notes. It will reach to more people.

Boost? Like I guess I am asking if I will see people who I am not already following. How do I find and connect with new people.

Your following might boost other plebs you never known.

I scour the universe feed looking for good original content. So many are just about the zaps tho.

Yeah, boosting in my opinion doesn't seem to be the best way to create a lot of network connections within a social media platform.
