The U.N. General Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of a resolution calling for humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza. The United States was one of only 10 countries voting against Tuesday’s resolution. The resolution passed with 153 votes in favor, an increase with more than 30 new favorable votes compared to a similar resolution on Oct. 27. Resolutions passed in the assembly, while not binding, reflect the views of the majority of the 193-nation U.N. membership.
