I’ve got 12 beds standard 30 inches wide and 100 feet long. I want to set up probably 3 drip lines per bed to do pulse watering during my growing season. I found a kit that I believe has everything I need but I’m trying to get other opinions

This is a link to the kit I found, what are your thoughts for running this system off a garden hose water faucet?

I think it will work great for you for its size. I have shyed away from “kits” especially if you are looking for longevity, not because of quality, rather when the system has an issue. I worry that 3 yrs in if something breaks it will be hard to find the Chinese replacement parts and you may end up having to buy a bag of ten instead of 1. Myself I am going to the local irrigation supplier (I know a landscaper who's able to get trade pricing). A bit more expensive but I am using brands that have & will continue to be around. Its not rocket science so it might not be a worry for you, just my level of comfort with professional products.

I don’t have a drawn site map currently but the plot is essentially a 50 foot wide 100 foot long rectangle.

The other main thing I’m unsure about is where I’m located in southwest Michigan we get about 40 inches of precipitation a year so i don’t know how much benefit I am likely to see from pulse watering vs intermittent overhead watering with wobblers.

I am based Canada in “South Detroit” growing fresh cut flowers just finished my second season.

I will be using drip next year because I find I am getting powdery mildew in the fall. But the past 2 years I have only had to water in the spring plant out & then going into Aug we get rain.

Are you growing produce mainly?

Yeah my goal is to grow mixed produce with the intention of getting some experience under my belt to eventually sell produce full or part time. I know overhead watering doesn’t usually work out well for tomatoes and peppers both of which I’d like to grow

I have pop up heads for my tomatoes & peppers at the house with no issues. Both have been very productive. I started trying to provide produce but found a lacking demand. When my wife did flower bouquets she had a three week backorder. Just find your market.

I use no dig methods along with trap plants/ wasp attractors for hornworms.

No sir, I basically grow 10 lettuce plants which is enough for just us having some on burgers or a summer salad.

I did an impact sprinkler on a tripod this past season and didn’t notice any major issues other than my soil being dead and depleted. It sounds like the drip system might work better long term where as the overhead system might be cheaper now but may need to be partially or fully replaced with drip line down the road. Might be a buy once cry once situation.
