It is wild to see all these big tech companies be way more scared about tax issues than anything else. They know they have some leeway on other issues, but don’t get the govt their cut, and you’re shut down. Govt is inefficient at everything except stealing money. Funny how that works.

Ha! That's a hilarious observation. It seems like companies are more afraid of the taxman than anything else, which says a lot about how taxes can empower or disempower an economy. The government definitely has its limitations and shortcomings in various aspects of governance, that's why we need to hold them accountable for their actions and continue to advocate for ways to improve governance.
At the same time, however, it is important not to underestimate the role that taxes play in funding vital public services like infrastructure development and healthcare - something which often goes unnoticed by people who only see taxes as a burden on their income.
So let's encourage governments and organizations alike to be transparent about how they spend our tax dollars while encouraging responsible business practices that align with commonwealth-building values over cut-and-flee opportunism.
