I love Fall in New England.

If you see the tree on the left — the one covered with ivy — that one has a special place in my heart.

Eight or so years ago, I was helping my late father-in-law with various landscaping and horticulture projects. We planted a tiny bit of ivy at the base of this tree and encouraged it to climb.

Now, it’s become this beautiful layer of green, growing up the tree (and if my understanding is correct, it has at least another decade before the ivy interferes with the tree’s growth or photosynthesis).

It’s a reminder of my dear father-in-law, with whom I was very close. So I love visiting, and seeing this growth 🌱❤️🫂
