I’m thinking this could be a “yes,” but are the names “nostr” & “damus” drawn from “Nostradamus,” the French astrologer who wrote “Les Prophéties” & known for predicting future events?

Pretty much! The nostr the protocol came first. Damus the client was named as a cheeky nod.

Yes. That’s why. I didn’t like the name Damus at first. Took me too long to recognize the nostr + damus concatenation. :)
