as a man, how many times a week do you think about fighting in battle or risking your life to save another person?

All night every night

Even in the dream we shadow boxing.

Probably 0.

It said "as a man" though 👉👈🤔

🤣

All the time. Mostly shower thoughts, seeing something passing by outside, made up scenarios… stuff like that

As a younger man, quite alot, probably daily. As a mature gentleman, much less often. But likely >0/mnth.

I could say, from personal experience, that if you think about it too much it shows insecurity in the knowledge of your ability, or a lack of conviction in your ability to deliver on that reality, hence the need to fantasise the event. Once your ability is "battle tested" and you know your own abilities, you no longer need to waste so much mental energy on the issue. Now that I'm reflecting, it was certainly after the times that I lived these experiences and put myself between danger and my loved one that quietened my mind to the topic. There was no longer any doubt in my conviction.

However, from time to time I do still "role play" certain cenarios in my mind if I'm presented with an idea that hadn't previously been considered. (Hence the ~>0/mnth). But it is rare these days.

The fight I consider more often and more pressing these days is the one against my own base nature: The spiritual battle for my soul.

A good few when I was younger now I tend to dream of peace

Amen brother

The more I actually know how to fight, the less I think about it.

Constantly

Not at all, unless that person that needs saving is one of my kids.

7-14

(I think it depends more on if you are single, got family, read the "news", and where you live, than gender. But ok, the absolute number is probably higher on males compared to females.)

My wife is driving through Wisconsin right now. She's listening to the Fall of Civilizations podcast about Roman Britain. so I'm thinking about risking life in battle right now!
