Let’s say this is all true - what could be done? Could a competing non-profit be helpful or is there a different funding/investment model you think would be more optimal?

I guess donating to some cabal of king-makers is not favorable over donating to projects yourself, even if you end up donating to a sub-standard project for not knowing any better.

Talking about king-makers: What came of Odell's accusations against the ETFs and Saylor? He had hopes to get massive funding for OpenSats I guess.

Search for it. Bitcoin Xitter was discussing it up and down for a week recently. Saylor is against Bitcoin protocol development and took action to have an ETF drop their commitment to supporting BTC development with tons of money.

If odell would have only said it that way. He claimed that Saylor threatened to crush that ETF if it would fund open source projects. Which is just ridiculous.
