Yeah.. but there should happen also #shamir backup. To split the securely the password.. the single backups should be written on a steel plate or someting like this.
Anyway it all require quite an effort to male sure it is secure enough and it is not really user friendly..
It think this would require a secure digital storage.. e.g. to only provide 5 emails, where each of them get a link to one part of the shamir backup?
The question is what #security of the data storage would be then enough and where it should be stored?
Hey, what do you think about the password manager apps like. #Lastpass for this purpose?
I always, always, recommend a password manager. One super complex password meaningful to you that you can remember for the password manager, and then let it handle everything else.
Too many places with too lax of security to safely reuse anything in the wild.
yeah, I actually trust the password managers quite a lot.
Perhaps private keys coukd be stored and accessible only by biometric input 🤔
Perhaps then could be safe to store there even such a secret, perhaps to never be displayed, only to be distributed as parts of shamir backup to the trusted e-mails 🤔
Sorry, I am simply for the digital way of storage such things
Oh me too. I adore the fingerprint scanning power button on my phone, saves so much time.
And for security, if they have my finger, I have bigger problems, lol.
Imagine FaceID 😄
By the way, my experience is way better with face id than the fingerprint. Only worse was while wearing a mask during the covid pandemic..
