I am trying to dig in more into the #nostr. Signed up an account on the new app #plebstr, then tried to log in the same account in #damus app.

There it allows me to upload an image to the post, hope it will be in Plebstr soon too.

Anyway why more apps with basically the same features?

With nostr, you're building "you", and then you can use whatever app suits you best.

mmhmm.. so that which app provides better features to work with the same data 🤔

Perhaps it is important to understand the visions of the apps 🤔

some might have implemented even video uploads or reels, some other polls or advertisements.. hmm, and whenever I can switch, that´s cool and that´s actually my understanding of #web3..

..now I think where else this concept makes sense? 🤔

It's the digital wild west, we are all figuring it out right now :D

Yeah, of course. I just like to brainstorm this way..

Tell me some ideas, I will challenge them 😎

I think the secret key could require some backup policy, then it could be used for some more serious cases 🤔🤔

I tell everyone that a piece of paper in a physically secure place is the only truly safe password storage.

Yeah.. but there should happen also #shamir backup. To split the securely the password.. the single backups should be written on a steel plate or someting like this.

Anyway it all require quite an effort to male sure it is secure enough and it is not really user friendly..

It think this would require a secure digital storage.. e.g. to only provide 5 emails, where each of them get a link to one part of the shamir backup?

The question is what #security of the data storage would be then enough and where it should be stored?

Hey, what do you think about the password manager apps like. #Lastpass for this purpose?

I always, always, recommend a password manager. One super complex password meaningful to you that you can remember for the password manager, and then let it handle everything else.

Too many places with too lax of security to safely reuse anything in the wild.

yeah, I actually trust the password managers quite a lot.

Perhaps private keys coukd be stored and accessible only by biometric input 🤔

Perhaps then could be safe to store there even such a secret, perhaps to never be displayed, only to be distributed as parts of shamir backup to the trusted e-mails 🤔

Sorry, I am simply for the digital way of storage such things

Oh me too. I adore the fingerprint scanning power button on my phone, saves so much time.

And for security, if they have my finger, I have bigger problems, lol.

Imagine FaceID 😄

By the way, my experience is way better with face id than the fingerprint. Only worse was while wearing a mask during the covid pandemic..

This is how it is decentralized and no one can ever cancel or limit your account because it is not only with one provider.

Cool, but protection against #disinformation , #violent content , #racism etc. also makes sense. Does it mean this all is allowed in the #nostr ecosystem?

Maybe some relays will filter this content in the future and you will be able to choose and use them. But in principle, yes, freedom of speech is what this is all about.

A few weeks ago I heard an interesting idea. It was in tech conference a lot about #AI and they were discussing the danger of AI usage for disinformation and how to ban it.

The idea actually was to not ban anything - remains me #nostr - speech freefom, even for AI, even for abuse content BUT each content will have some measure of its nature - it will indicate some insight, then everybody could based on it filter it by himself 🤔💪🏼

sounds me like better approach, to you?

The question is how the measures will look like and how will be it implemented. But let’s see.

Yea, it is a completely new concept. An innovation. I wonder where we will see it first, how it will look like and where it will get later on
