Think about how often you’ve seen a picture of a rich powerful guy in a suit reading or holding a newspaper.

As someone who has been on a break from the news for almost two months, a few things have become increasingly apparent to me.

1. How natural of the pursuit of truth is.

2. How ingrained the news cycle is in the western mindset.

3. How easy it is to confuse these two things.

We KNOW the truth is important. Many THINK the news is where to find it and feel a pressing need to “stay current.”

Knowing what’s going on around you can be important.

But reading a newspaper or watching the news seldom, if ever, qualifies as the pursuit of truth.

The news does not make your life better.
