Finished glazing my hummingbird #sculpture tonight! (Actually he’s a #Christmas #ornament as well)

The purple glaze will become a splendid iridescent green once fired. For an example, check out the dragon sculpture currently for #sale on my Etsy.

You need to slather that stuff on really thick…

I have to fire it with special wires so it doesn’t touch the kiln shelf because it is glazed on every surface! I’m working up to a firing of not only this, but some other objects (mushroom pendants…) that need the same treatment, and they’ll all be done at once. I’ll be kinda nervous until I see them all safely out, since I’ve never done this before…

Would love to see pictures of your wire setup when you do it.

Miss throwing from back in the day. Keep dreaming that one day we will get a wheel.

There they go… 🤞

Nichrome wires: the thick ones are bead wires, the thin are stamen wires.

I made my own supports from heavily grogged clay. My kiln dragons ❤️‍🔥

I had six other pendants ready to glaze but want to make sure this works first, both the firing technique and the glazing experiment I’m doing.

Any I make after this won’t need s hooks 😅 dumb miscalculation on my part of how big to make the wire loops
