I’d say there will be no “traditional” advertising as thanks to Nostr every user is the CEO of his own social media.
I could potentially set a minimum Zap amount to put a price on the ability of people to “spam” me with notes.
The possibilities are unimaginable…
There will be all kinds of advertising here, forms which we haven’t seen before as well as traditional types.
That choice that you mention means I can choose an ad-funded “free” experience, or I can pay to avoid ads, or I can even roll my own - everyone has different needs and wants, being able to make those decisions yourself is a massive improvement on the fiat world where you can have it any colour you want so long as it’s black.
