I tried the instructions
on both sites and waited
but nothing happens
no check, no communication
I guess these services are simply down atm...
If you are okay with trying out browser clients you can visit snort.social or iris.to . Both offer you a free NIP-05 creation.

After creating your NIP-05 identifier you can switch back to your preferred client. Your identifier should should work there, too.
Your account profile is stored within the nostr network so all information including the NIP-05 will be shared among different clients.
