I picked a carrier up on sale black Friday for around the same. Make sure you just go ahead and by ceramic plates. Don't skimp on the plates. I had a buddy who argued with me bought steel with the coating tested a couple plates and they still spalled out. Then he bought ceramics

I don’t have plates yet either.
I’d probably keep it as light as possible.
In that case I would go with a slick carrier or minimalist. Spend your money on quality carrier and add as you find what you like.
