Vlad actually has kind of tried to do the Bitcoin Uncensored thing, which was to present skepticism about lots unquestioned "truthy" ideas in bitcoin. His interviews were decent. He has also been a bit of a gadfly for the hardware wallet industry, perhaps a little too pedantic at times.

When I saw him going about his drivechains campaign, he had clearly shed any objectivity, and the desire to go back to an older "shitcoining on bitcoin" agenda was on full display.
