Dear Ledger,

You were my first hardware wallet and for that you hold a special place in my heart. But it seems like over the years we have both changed and are going on different paths as we discover our own tolerance for shitcoinery.

You made some choices during our relationship that I find questionable and your latest antics were just too much for me. For that, I owe it to myself to break up with you.

You were my first but unfortunately you won't be my last.

I wish you well but it's time for me to let you go. I hope you find true love out there somewhere one day.

They rolled out an update which let's you "recover" your seed words if they are lost. Sounds good on the surface but in practice that means they're exposing your seed words to third parties.

They shard your phrase and send it to 3 different providers so no single entity holds the full phrase but I do NOT want that sort of back door on my hardware wallet. Full stop.
