Arch + btrfs + grub + snapshots — no problem.

Is this you? Sats for your service.

I borked my bootloader, and can’t seem to sort it out. DM if interested. 🙏🏻

Why not do a clean reinstall?

I don’t know arch but with ubuntu this works quite well when /home is on a separate partition

btrfs 😬 i’ve only trusted zfs with my data

I tried zfs, but it seemed to be a memory hog. Makes sense for servers.

It uses all available memory (arc) but purges it out under memory pressure

Modern btrfs is fine (more likely to catch a hardware error than lose your data). It was bad like a decade ago but…

thats good to know, i’ve heard bad stories in the past

the older i get the simpler i like it... ext4, ubuntu, manual backups using `cp -rfvpu` (reminds me, i need to make a weekly reminder thing to not forget)

Yeh, that’s the daily driver. My mess around Thinkpad is more bleeding edge.

this might be the exact same issue you are having?

Looks similar, but no simple fix.

Are you able to boot into it and reinstall grub?

Yes, but the devil’s in the details. Doesn’t recognize /boot as vfat.

Post on the Arch subreddit and hopefully someone is able to guide you in the proper direction
