I think (based on your comments about the UFO deep dive exercise you did) that you possibly have an issue with what can be called “evidence” and how many times removed from you it is. Stories are seperate from the so called evidence that is often presented by the UAP or religion promoters. The story is simply the vehicle being used to transport the “idea.”Believing stories that are “untrue for you” vs “true for them” involves confronting a variety of cognitive bias and as well as establishing trust hierarchies. Part of the problem is that the community built around the campfire does not scale up to communities built around screens because certain parts of the trust dynamic can’t be experienced or exploited. One way to handle it is to become more comfortable with ambiguity. I have found this approach to be helpful when reviewing the claims being made. 🤷‍♂️
