Anyone who tells you that faith is just belief, and falls back on the excuse that we "just need to believe" when confronted with unconformable spiritual truths, is a fiat religionist who is lying to themselves and probably to you, too.

Faith is the choice to have low time preference, even when a situation calls for high time preference. You can only do this if you are truly relying upon something that's greater than all problems, and if it's at the top of your value hierarchy.

There are answers to every question about God, but the only way to fully understand them is to rely on Him so completely that no situation will ever succeed in making you raise your time preference. This is a gradual process that can't come all at once, but as you learn to rely on God more and more, and work to keep your time preference low no matter what, then knowledge, understanding, and most importantly peace will come. 😌
