As more people join nostr, my hope is manufactured narrative about how different we all are will be replaced by the fact that despite some very loud edges of the bell curve, most people are generally good, reasonable, and able to get along.

The absence of toxic, angry algorithms opens a door to this, because instead of being incentivized to post divisive content, the pure incentive (with no algorithm) is to post what I think most others really want to see: authenticity. It’s ok to disagree, just be real about it. Be humble, and open to being wrong.

Zaps further feed this incentive structure, when you realize you are giving up the scarcest asset ever held, you make it count and don’t spend it on petty bullshit.

And when a “marketplace of algorithms” comes into being, we can all choose the configurations that are right for ourselves. We’ll probably learn a lot about ourselves and each other, and the actual assholes on either extreme of the sociocultural spectrum will find themselves silo’d into their own little echo chambers, where the only way to get out is to return to a vibration where other people actually want to hang out with them.

Maybe I’m an optimist 🤷‍♂️ but I see so much potential here.
