This is just based on my observations as an ex coach and working with young men for a decent portion if my life:

Stand your ground without escalating things until the moment he touches you.

Then respond with reciprocal force.

I understand your logic but if the guy is significantly bigger, then first contact may not allow him to use reciprocal force. That guy is smaller so if he gets too close, he can’t swing anymore. It will inevitably be up to the judge to determine though so it’s subjective. Imagine this same situation but the guy used pepper spray instead. Would he still be in trouble?

Then in that case, retreat.

Im just telling you how to NOT go to jail or get your ass kicked.

Explaining to a judge that you struck the guy first because he was bigger doesn’t work very well.

Haha

Pepper spray is considered a defensive weapon if you’re using it defensively. The guy mouthing off is a hard sell to attack him.

A lot of the stuff im saying is stuff that gets discussed in concealed carry class. Boy I learned a lot in that course.

Oh I’m curious about what you learned in that concealed carry class please share

Key takeaways from a concealed weapons class for behavior when conceal carrying: Always prioritize situational awareness, and de-escalation.

Stay calm and avoid confrontations, —only pull your weapon when you’re about to take their life.

NEVER BRANDISH UNTIL YOURE SURE its time to take lethal force.

Pretty much the opposite of law enforcement.

Conceal carry = looking like a

Pussy from this day forward.
